Olde Towne Bakery

Old Towne Bakery made our small wedding cake and cupcakes! We went with almond cupcakes with raspberry filling and lemon cupcakes, both were phenomenal! All of our guests loved the cupcakes and said they were delicious. Everyone was very professional that I talked with, and I was able to pay my remaining balance over the phone which saved me an extra drive over. Highly recommend ordering from them!

Has this bakery changed owners or something? Maybe lost their good decorators? I used to love how they decorated my children’s birthday cakes. They were adorable and detailed. I would tell them what I wanted and it would exceed my expectations. The last 3 cakes I have ordered I have been incredibly dissatisfied. One was very dry and stale, the other two were delicious, but the decorating is very sub par now. I explained in detail what I wanted and it wasn’t even close. I could get better decorating at Walmart. Again, I have always shopped here because they were outstanding in taste and the decorating was superb. I’m not sure what’s happened.

I just want to give a great BIG thumbs up, FIVE stars are not even enough if i could it would be 10 + STARS and the reason is because on Tuesday I called them after searching everywhere for a specific cake for my grandson who wanted a Freddy Krueger and Micheal Myers cake. From the beginning the young girl who took the order by phone was very animated and friendly so that was a plus and when i told her what i wanted on the cake I thought for sure that it was going to a sorry can't do that but to the contrary, she put me on hold and came back with a YES and went on to say that her decorators were awesome and that she was sure that I would approve. Today when I picked up the cake i was very surprised and amazed from the staff that was very pleasant and helpful (lots of young people) and the decorating skills they have there are AWESOME just like the young girl said! even the people standing in line were in awe. When I got home if you could see the look and excitement on my grandbaby's face it was just priceless! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Old Towne Bakery I will be going back and will tell everyone of my great experience for sure!!!

I couldn’t be more disappointed and upset about the cookies I picked up and the response of the manager. Cookies were ordered for graduation party. Asked for a maroon “M”. They showed them to me and no way close were they maroon; THEY WERE PINK. I said this is not maroon; it is pink. They’re response was “it’s the only maroon we have and used for years”. I said I don’t buy that and you should not be telling or selling cookies supposedly with a maroon “M” ; it was pink. Manager was COMPLETELY disrespectful to my complaint. Her fix was to spray them darker but would be spotty. Why in the world would I do that with cookies that were already ruined. I’ve gone to this bakery for many many years; never again. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone and actually suggest you go anywhere but there.

On July 20th I picked up this cake for my daughters birthday! I carried the very heavy cake to my car on the road down the way since there was no parking the only time I got to see the cake was while the employee was walking by and she held it so I couldn't see the top! When I got home minutes later as I was pulling the cake out of my car I seen the hand print and went right inside to call the bakery they asked for pictures which I provided with the box still stapled closed then with it open! As u can tell the box my cake was in was two small cake boxes stapled together since they don't have a proper box which in the end messed up the side of my cake and the controller on the top you think for a $140 cake they would have a proper box and since they make big cakes all the time how unprofessional it is to staple boxes together all while the employee is apologizing for messing up my cake! I wanted to buy a number 8 candle and as I was handing my $20 bill to the employee she said no take it for free I messed up your cake I said thanks then left! My hole point to this post is olde towne bakery said WE put the hand print there not THEM even tho the box was completely shut when I seen it and the only people around the cake outside the box was the employees of Olde Towne bakery! So I waited a week they said the owner was going to call me! then this morning I wake up to a message saying no one is going to call me and nothing is going to be done for this huge mistake that ruined my $140 cake we couldn't even eat cuz it was touched and my children have underling health issues and I didn't want to chance them getting sick over a HAND PRINT!! so don't go to Olde Towne bakery if you want a good cake with out hand prints! Walmart and hyvee cakes are the way to go at least u know they will taste good and be hand print free and if there is any type of mistake which I have never had in the last 7 years of birthdays I'm sure they would make it right unlike Olde Towne bakery!

We were guite disappointed in the cakes we got from here for our event. My husband's family has been going here for 30+ years and has always spoken highly of their goods. We had 3 separate cakes, 1 chocolate, 1 white and another with 2 layers of each. The white cake was very good, but the decorations lacked greatly. The chocolate cake was dry and had zero flavor, decorations lacked greatly on this one too. The 2 tiered cake had several cracks in the frosting, white was good and the chocolate again was bland but not as dry as the sheet cake one and the decorations were not that impressive. Overall, we know they have done better and will try another time to see if anything changes.
