Had a couple of days away in the Everything Cabins in the valley. We visited the Spread Eagle at Lunch time yesterday 25/10/23 & for Evening meal today. Both times the Food & Staff where amazing. Will definitely travel over again from Oldham for a Meal. 5☆

Lovely Chef & Brewer pubs in a great location. Good views of the surrounding countryside.

The Food is delicious and it's reasonably priced too. I usually have the mixed grill.

Just arrived home after celebrating our 45th wedding 💍💒🔐💒 anniversary at the Spread Eagle.
Food was EXCELLENT as was the service. Nice interlude between courses.
The reason for the average mark on atmosphere was because it was mid afternoon on a Saturday.
Will recommend to family and friends.

The place itself is beautiful and the views are amazing. The children's food are good size portions but the pizza look like them microwave pizzas. The Sunday roast was nice I got the trio some of the meat were very fatty. Best bit for me was the cheesecake that was lovely. Service was great. Not bad priced. Wish I would have tried the pie though

We have recently had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding day by holding the daytime and evening receptions at the Spread Eagle at Mellor on Friday 28th July 2023.
Rachael, the manager at the Spread Eagle, was instrumental in making sure that both the day and evening celebrations were a resounding success and an amazing day that we and all of our guests throughout the day and evening will remember forever.
The help, advice, suggestions and enthusiasm that she showed throughout the planning of the day was just fantastic, which resulted in a day and evening that simply could not have gone any better, the food was superb, the surroundings were beautifully set out and decorated and the service was impeccable, with every member of the staff working so hard throughout the day to make it a day to remember.
For anyone thinking of holding a celebration of any description, I would highly recommend that, just as we did, you call in at the Spread Eagle and talk to Rachael in person, her help and “Can do” attitude is a pleasure to work with and something I’m sure, like us, would result in you having a celebration that will long be remembered by all.

What a great place. Can't believe we haven't tried it before, only live a few miles away. We wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been before and my wife mentioned this place because she drives past a couple of times a week with her work and said lt looks lovely, so today we tried it. Lovely spotlessly clean place and the food was superb. I had the trio roast dinner, my wife had the slow cooked beef and we both loved it. Wasn't too pricey either. And the beer was good. Will definitely be back to try something else

We went to this restaurant and one of our party an elderly lady had a fall. The staff were wonderful. We had ordered for the table but we obviously didn't get the food. Our family member had to got to hospital the staff were awesome totally understood our situation thanks from the bottom of our hearts. The manager phoned my wife the day after to find out how our family member was. Thank you again the staff at this restaurant deserve a medal.

Decided to visit for vegan breakfast on a very wet Sunday morning, the venue itself is lovely and cosy and there were quite a few diners in when we got there. The vegan breakfast was delicious, I swapped the beans for avocado and also had an alcohol free Freixenet and a pot of Earl Grey. Staff were very friendly, helpful and service was just perfect. My only gripe is why the vegan breakfast is the same price as the full English which has potato rosti, black pudding and whatever eggs you want in addition to the items on the vegan breakfast. Some hash browns, vegan black pudding and smashed avocado could be added as standard. However it was nice and I will be back, I have actually contacted Greene King about the pricing and interested to hear their comments.
