Sweet Brown Suga

This bakery is adorable! The butter bar is the bomb dot com. The chocolate chip cookie is delectable! As you can see from the pic, I wasted no time digging in and I love all of their sweets!! Great prices! Amazing customer service! It felt like home when I was there. This is the type of bakery you take your kids to, and they take their kids to generation after generation!

FIRST… this is not like walking into your everyday, average bakery/cafe! There’s so much more to experience! The kindness and professionalism of the staff is priceless! The quaint and comforting feel you get once you walk in makes you want to stay and talk all day and then there’s the food!!! Delicious and addicting. I got a butter bar and took a bite once I got back in my car. I immediately went right back in the bakery to tell one of the owners how good it was/is!!! So good, I danced out of there! I went back today and got lunch for my daughter (Hot Ham and Cheese, a deviled egg, a strawberry cupcake and lemonade, all included in the Lunch Box)) and for me a chicken salad sandwich, a butter bar, chips and lemonade, all super delicious!!!! I couldn’t leave without a slice of Ms. Lou Lou Bell’s Yellow Cake filled and iced with chocolate frosting! No words for how AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS this cake is!!! My suggestion, JUST GO and be ready to be absorbed in all the deliciousness Sweet Brown Suga has to offer! You’ll be so glad you did!!!

I'll keep this review short, but if you haven't been here you need to go! I stopped in and go their Georgia cake (cream cheese frosting) and it was delicious. While I was there I noticed they sell sandwiches and soups! On Fridays they have a low country soup and I couldn't resist getting me a bowl. When I say it was good! I mean it was good. They even told me they have a combo where you get a sandwich and soup and a cookie (i think, don't quote me on the dessert) but it comes with a couple things for $10 ish dollars or so and I will definitely be going back for their hot ham and cheddar!

Stale/moldy desserts. I have always wanted to stop in this bakery and finally had a chance yesterday. I got a few small pastries, 2 pieces of cake and 3 croissants. I will be honest, I didn't try everything because one of the cake slices had green mold spots on it. After I realized that, I threw everything away because I did not want to get sick. I did try the brownie and rice crispy treat, which were both stale and definitely not fresh. I don't think the croissants are baked here as they are not bakery-type croissants. (very unimpressive) This was a total waste of almost $40. I think the bakery should focus on maybe making a few things fresh each day instead of having SO MANY OPTIONS. If you are keeping things around for longer than their shelf life, people can get sick which is not something to mess around with.

I ordered a cake for my husband’s 40th birthday and it was so beautiful! It tasted great as well! I have always stopped by for cupcakes, bars, and other goodies, but this was the first custom cake I ordered from them. I was so impressed and everyone loved it.
