Hometown Buffet

The place was almost empty which was a little weird considering it was 7pm on a Saturday night... There was way too many dirty tables which is why I gave it a four stars... The food was pretty fresh yet the soups were all bland... I tried the chicken noodle and the pozole and they were not good... The chicken, steak, tacos, and ham were delicious as was their chocolate cake!! 60 dollars was an ok price for a family of four...

Wow, very upsetting - especially for this chain. Hardly any plates/cutlery set, no one at the carving station (saw individuals get their own fork and knife to cut their own meat) and the dessert bar was bare and understocked with all the essentials. And in all honesty, it is not that busy, no line out the door nor every table taken

I hardly post reviews but I have to say my waiter was very welcoming and served us always with a smile. His name was Cesar by the way when you walk into the restaurant it was super clean and food tastes really good . I really like the soups and deserts they have . Definitely going back because before we left also the Manager came and ask if our service was good and all I can say it was a great experience eating here .

This one was very clean and the staff very friendly. My main problem with this place was the food.. The time I was there it wasThurseday 3/12. The time was 12:20 which is lunch time. Majority of the food was cold. I had fried chicken was cold didnt mind that because I like it like that. But the vegetables corn, carrots ,mash potatoes were cold no flavor. The enchiladas looked terrible and they were hard cold and nothing in them. The best thing was the salad bar and fruit bar. Dont know how at lunch time the food ends up cold. Especially when the enchiladas are just brought out and the are not even warm. I think if you are going to charge that much the food should at least be warm. I think they should do better.

I normally expect a super busy, messy and run down with dirty bathrooms at a Hometown Buffet restaurants .... BUT TO MY SURPRISE... WOW!!!! The Hometown Buffet in DOWNEY is NOTHING like your typical chain restaurant! The diner was super NICE & CLEAN... the customer service was TOPS! The employees or workers and management were very professional and very neat in appearance, well groomed (hair neat, make up, attire). The food was HOT, FRESH and READY, delicious! I like that the food wasn’t messy or on the floor like other restaurants I’ve been to before. I noticed the manager (Erika) was totally on it, working hard to keep the place in order and clean. Asusena took care of my table, she was professional and very kind.... GOOD FOOD, GREAT STAFF AND SPECTACULAR RESTAURANT TO DINE IN! Very impressed THANKS GUYS
