Charming Cafe

I never go in with high expectations when it comes to Asian cuisine. This place was surprisingly good though! For me, the gold standard is Ming’s Cafè that used to be on Montrose/Westheimer (RIP Fai Jow!). This place isn’t close but it isn’t bad either! I only had the General Joe’s chicken but the sushi looked delicious and this place was a step above what you’d expect from a place in Crosby. The fried rice wasn’t exceptional but the battered chicken and the sauce were good, the portions were excellent! I ate half and am still full.

I’ve only ordered to to-go so I can’t speak to the service while dining in. Ordering to-go is pretty fast and efficient. I wish there was a designated area for to-go orders but I know the space is kind of small. The food is good to me so no complaints there. The only reason I’m rating it 4 out of 5 stars is because you can’t substitute fried rice for veggie lo mein (not even for an extra charge). If they gave this option everything would be perfect. I hope the owners see this and consider it.

Went in to order my meal. The lady didn’t great me just asked me for my order. I told her my order she repeated it and walked away like she’s in a hurry. When she comes back for me to pay I told her I didn’t want eggs or meat in my rice. The lady gets upset throws her hands in the air and walked off. I don’t understand how you’re upset when you walked away from me when I was not finished telling you my order. They definitely lost my business and now probably my co workers as well. Horrible customer service
